Seasoning the School Year- The students will investigate seasonal changes by studying a deciduous class tree. The students will observe the changes the tree goes through as the seasons change. Students will write down their results and observations in a journal. At the end of the project, students will present their information on a weather graph.

Healthy Eating: Are We What We Eat?- In this unit, students learn the importance of a healthy diet. Students will learn the food pyramid and how to categorize each type of food. They will learn how their healthy eating will affect their bodies. Students will create a presentation on their healthy food choices and will create posters of a meal they choose.

Pond Water and Pollywogs- Students will help the local zoo to create a newsletter to help visitors learn about the new amphibian exhibit. Students will research universal habitats, observe frogs in their environment, and raise frogs from eggs. Students will record their reflections and observations in a journal. They will record their data on a spreadsheet. The students will present a slideshow showing that they understand habitats and their features.
